Now we are one week into December home preparations are well underway and Bettinsons Kitchen would like to help with our Christmas Kitchen check list for Leicestershire.
The pressure’s on and you find yourself frantically moving from room to room throughout the house checking and making preparations for extra guests that will visit during the festivities. From changing beds, checking lighting, stocking up the bathroom and so much more, Bettinsons Kitchens are keen to help you prepare the kitchen in the hope that we take some of the pressure off your shoulders.
We’ve therefore thought of a few ideas and tips to add to your check list that may make things a little easier in the kitchen, because those food preparations to feed family and friends during the festive period often need to be co-ordinated like a military operation in order for you (at the very least) to maintain your sanity.
Roasting Tins & Pans – Bettinsons Kitchens supply a superb selection of storage options including Kesseböhmer Premium Storage Solutions and some of these can help you to keep pans and roasting tins organised. However, you do tend to collect far more of these than are often needed, so keeping them tidy and organised for the time of year can get difficult. So, take five minutes today to walk yourself through the preparations of your Christmas meal. Where is your large roasting tin that your turkey / goose will fit into for cooking? How many different types of vegetables will you be cooking? Are you cooking roast and mashed potatoes? Do you have pans ready for the gravy and bread sauce? It’s worth putting all these pans together in preparation to save you rushing around trying to find them on the day.
Plates & Cutlery – We all like things to match and the table to look just right on the day, so some thought beforehand into which plates we’re going to use plus knives, forks and spoons too.
Food Preparation Tools – Chopping boards at the ready, blenders may have to be prepped too. And then it’s a case of making sure the whisk is to hand for making sure you can whip the cream to put on top of the trifle.
Sink and/or dishwasher – You may assign duties to others such as the washing up or loading the dishwasher, but have you stocked up on washing up liquid and dishwasher tablets to make sure that those on cleaning duties can get the job done from start to finish? If there’s drying up to do, do you have enough tea towels or can you get enough washed and ready for use?
We are always thinking ‘kitchens’ here at Bettinsons Kitchens Leicester and it is quite natural for all these preparations to run through our minds as we design and install new kitchens, so we hope (at the very least) this blog has given you food for thought and set your mind to making those all important Christmas kitchen check lists and preparations. Christmas is a real test of any kitchen and we hope that yours stands up to the challenge.
